Each instrument is hand assembled and adjusted by our master craftsmen, and has the following exclusive features available nowhere else:

ALTISSIMO OCTAVE KEY
The Steve Goodson Model is the only saxophone to offer as standard equipment our altissimo octave mechanism, which greatly facilitates extending the range of the instrument to a full four octaves, rather than the usual two and one half octaves. An additional finger touch is installed next to the “traditional� octave key, and the player merely opens this mechanism for notes above G3. This mechanism operates and additional octave vent located low on the neck, which enables the altissimo notes to speak more freely and with a much improved voice and superior intonation.

KEYWORK TO HIGH G
All Steve Goodson Model saxophones have keywork to high G. The high G key touch is located adjacent to and above the usual placement of the high F# key touch.

EXCLUSIVE BELL TO BODY BRACE
Our unique design is mounted lower on the bell, allowing the end of the bell to vibrate more freely and thus increasing the projection and resonance of the lower tones.

KANGAROO LEATHER PADS
Our pad sets are made exclusively for this series by MusicMedic, using premium grade kangaroo leather. Kangaroo leather is the strongest and most durable leather available at any price, and is unusually supple so it seals better and is extremely quiet when the tone hole is impacted. Due to the extremely fine grain of kangaroo leather, these pads simply do not stick to the tone holes.

SOLID BRASS RESONATORS
Our resonators are made from exactly the same high copper content alloy as our saxophone body so the resonators do not “color� the sound. The resonators are extra large to increase projection, and are individually hand riveted to the pads.

MID RANGE SPEAKER KEY
In order to improve intonation in the A2/C3 range, we have added an additional tone hole located adjacent to the Bb key. This mechanism is operated by the B key touch and requires no additional springs. The additional venting this tone hole provides corrects the inherent intonation difficulties found in this range, and greatly improves the timbre of these notes.[/b:227f7b0fe8][/size:227f7b0fe8]
